Building The Shiggy Bop:

I like to start standing on one leg and practicing the scuff heel (aka flap with heel) also called a shovel.  Start with a few 8 counts to get comfortable with the speed of connecting those 2 sounds.  Practice both sides.

Then shift to standing on both feet and shovel out both feet together.  (2 clean sounds)

Then stand on one leg... Shovel that leg forward (2 sounds) land the back leg for your final 3rd sound of your Shiggy Bop = 3 Sounds Total! 😀

Shiggidy Bop = (4 Count) shovel, toe drop, LAND  - Add in a toe drop before you land on your back leg. 3 sounds happen from your supporting leg then 4th sound is where we land it back to 2 feet

Shiggadiggy Bop = (5 Count) shovel, toe drop, heel LAND - Build one more sound in the supporting leg before you land the back leg.  Now we have 4 sounds happening from our supporting leg then 5th and final sound is the landing.  Play with this final sound, maybe you want a toe dig, flam, step, scuff, or even a shuffle (which would add a 6th sound).

Keep experimenting and playing with different ways to layer and connect them.

Tap is expression and creativity.  After you gain clarity on what and how, begin to CREATE your own variations!

M&M (Music & Move) - My go to way to exercise!

When you're short on time and need to exercise, play your favorite song and just layer a few moves, tap dance or not.  Don't stop moving until the song is over!

It's simple, get's you out of your own way and promotes flow state where your mind silences all outside noises and you get to be connected to your body in that moment.

Music Playlist:  I do not own the rights to these songs, just enjoy dancing tot them and recommend you add them to your playlists for fun, upbeat rhythms.
